Anwar Shawkat Afser has been elected new President and Shakawat Hossain Mamun has been Secretary General of the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DBCCI).
The new office bearers were elected in the 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of DBCCI, held on Tuesday at Gardenia Banquet, Gulshan, Dhaka.
Outgoing President Faruque Hassan Chaired the AGM and handed over the charges to the new committee. Members of Election Board and Election Appeal Board, 130 nos of distinguished members of DBCCI, media representative of Electronic and Printing media were participated in the AGM. The meeting was ended followed by dinner.
Newly elected President Md. Anwar Shawkat Afser, Managing Director, Sakhi Lines Ltd. (Sakhi Group) took the charges for the year 2020-22 as second time.
He is from an aristocratic family of Bhawal Shah Gazi Family from Gazipur. He is also Managing Director of Sakhi Petroleum Ltd., Sakhi Port Ltd., Proprietor of Sakhi Telecommunication Ltd., etc. Mr. Afser is a social activist, member and former responsible for many business and social associations.
He was the Former District Governor of Lions Clubs International District 315-B4, Bangladesh (2005-06), Former Council Chairperson of Lions Clubs International, Multiple District 315, Bangladesh (2006-07), Vice President of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission (Chittagong), etc.
The new Board of Directors of DBCCI also include Hashan Mahmood Chowdhury, Senior Vice President.
