Some 20 expatriate Bangladeshis are engaged in spreading propaganda against the country and the government in exchange for payment. The ministry of home affairs prepared their list and sent it to the Bangladeshi missions abroad for taking necessary steps in this regard. Officials of concerned ministries disclosed this at a meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs on Wednesday.

Bangladesh high commissioners and ambassadors have already been asked to pursue the governments of the host foreign countries to bring the rumour-mongers to book. The foreign ministry placed nine-point progress report before the standing committee. In the nine-point progress report, they said the missions are always active in protesting and responding to the propaganda through the foreign ministries of the respective countries, according to media report.

The expatriate Bangladeshis brighten the name and image of Bangladesh through their positive activities in the host countries alongside sending remittance. But unfortunately some people among the expatriate Bangladeshis are engaged in spreading propaganda against the country and the government. Therefore, Bangladesh envoys abroad must respond spontaneously against all sorts of anti-Bangladesh propaganda in their respective host countries.

Bangladesh envoys will also

have to take stern action against

those who are trying to mislead

 the foreign countries

Staying abroad, some identified influential persons allegedly are now very active in plotting against the country and government as well. Like in the past, they have already intensified their ill-efforts ahead of the next 12th parliamentary elections in order to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and install a dictator being imbued with the anti-liberation thought.

Bangladesh envoys will also have to take stern action against those who are trying to mislead the foreign countries. Since these persons have no public support and faith in democracy, they always prefer such types of backdoor policies through conspiracies with support from plotters at home and abroad.

The country’s people do not believe in propaganda, instead they put their faith in the socioeconomic development efforts and achievement of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led government.

Our envoys must keep in mind that the country’s foreign policy is “friendship to all, malice to none”.  Our envoys abroad should highlight Bangladesh’s latest development. If the envoys abroad start working from today to thwart ill-activities, no one will dare commit such heinous activities against Bangladesh in the future.
