A series of events promoting anti-corruption awareness—including a discussion, human chain, and student debate competition—were held in Lalpur, Natore on Thursday.
The programme, organised by the Upazila Corruption Prevention Committee, took place at the Upazila Parishad conference room. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Mehedi Hasan attended as chief guest, while Committee President Nazrul Islam presided over the session.
Speakers included General Secretary of the Committee Professor Mozammel Haque, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mehedi Jahan, North Bengal Sugar Mills High School Headmaster Gawsul Azam, and Bilmaria Girls High School Headmaster A. Khalek, among others.
In the lively inter-school debate on corruption prevention, Bilmaria Girls High School took first place, while North Bengal Sugar Mills High School secured the runner-up position. A total of eight educational institutions participated.
Following the discussion, participants formed a human chain to symbolise unity against corruption.
