Concluding parade of newly appointed 2nd class officers of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force has been held. A concluding parade was held at Bangladesh Ansar and VDP Academy in Safipur, Kaliakair Upazila of Gazipur on Tuesday morning.
Akhter Hossain, Senior Secretary, Department of Public Security, Ministry of Home Affairs, received salutes from the participants as the chief guest at the concluding parade.
Major General Mizanur Rahman Shamim, Director General of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force, BP, OSP, NDC, PSC, Additional Director General Brigadier General Khandaker Farid Hasan, BGBM, PBGM (Bar), NDC, Ansar and VDP Academic Additional Alam, Deputy Director General (Administration) Colonel Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, PSC, Deputy Director General (Operations) AKM Ziaul Alam and other senior officers and staff of the force.Also present were Gazipur Superintendent of Police Shafiullah, Additional Superintendent of Police Kaliakair (Circle) Azimur Hossain, Kaliakair Upazila Nibarhi Officer Tajwar Akram Sakapi Ibn Sajjad, Kaliakair Police Station OC Akbar Ali Khan, Investigation OC Abul Bashar and many others.
Earlier, the chief guest at the Academy Iyad Ali Parade Ground visited each contingent in a well-equipped open green jeep wrapped in a red carpet. Later, the parade marched in 6 (six) rows and greeted the chief guest.
The trained officers took an oath to dedicate their lives in the service of the country and the people of the country by raising their hands towards their respective scriptures and steadfastly adhering to the Constitution of Bangladesh. The chief guest handed over the prizes to the best trainees. Out of a total of 48 newly appointed 2nd class officers, Tofail Ahmed won the award for excellence in drill, Tanvir Ahmed won the award for firing and all in all, Tanvir Ahmed won the award for smart trainee.
Chief Guest Senior Secretary Akhter Hossain congratulated the trainees and said that Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force have always shown efficiency and success in every field from its inception till date.
He further said that the activities of this force at a time of national importance and urgency are commendable. Apart from performing its duties in various elections, the role of the forces is undeniable in the operation of railway protection, prevention of sabotage on highways and prevention of fundamentalism and militancy. Besides, it is contributing to the provision of public safety during various religious and national festivals.
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force have been carrying out silent revolution in creating human resources. He said the force was playing a leading role in creating employment for the youth of the country by providing job-oriented and technical training.
