The Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party inaugurated its 2025 Tree Plantation Programme on Wednesday under the theme “Let’s Create a Green Bangladesh through Planned Afforestation.”
The ceremony was held at the Ansar and VDP Academy in Gazipur, where the Director General, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, SGPM, BAM, NDU, AFWC, PSC, officially launched the initiative by planting a sapling at 11:00 am.
This nationwide campaign will see the planting of fruit-bearing, medicinal, and forest trees from national to grassroots levels, continuing through September.
In his speech, the Director General highlighted the vital role of tree plantation in protecting the environment and combating climate change. He stated that Ansar and VDP contribute not only to national security but also to environmental and social development.
Also present were Additional DG Brigadier General Fida Mahmud, Colonel Md Faisal Ahmed Bhuiyan, Acting Commandant Mohammad Nurul Absar, and other senior officials.
