Ansar and VDP Jhenidah district unit have distributed 1,800 sacks of relief materials in the district so far. All six upazilas like Jhenidah Sadar, Kaliganj, Kotchandpur, Moheshpur, Shailkupa ad Harinakundu was brought under the relief distribution programme.
When this correspondent had talked to a number of Ansar and VDP members at Kancherkole high school ground in Shailkupa of Jhenidah on Sunday, they expressed their great satisfaction over the relief distribution.
Rupa Khatun and Tapna Saha, two members of the defense party said they had been passing hard time when there was no food or cooking items in their homes. The sachet f relief will ensure food and some other necessary items for a few days without any tension.
They said the defense party members like him have been conducting awareness among the rural people as they are not much more enough about the affect of the deadly coronavirus.
District commandant of Ansar and VDP in Jhenidah Sanjoy Kumar Saha said the director general of Ansar and village defense party Major general Qazi Sharif Kaikobad, had prepared a list of 300 insolvent members in each six upazilas and ensured the relief to them physically.
Each of the relief sachet contains rice, pulse, potato, edible oil, soap, mask and some other essential commodities required for every family. He said they have been advising the members to stand by the innocent grass route level people and ensure social safety for the people at any cost.
