Dr. Zainul Abedin, retired Professor of Rajshahi University and former Director of Institute of Bangladesh Studies, RU, died of Coronavirus infection at a hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
Professor Dr. Zakir Hossain, Director of IBS, RU has confirmed the incident of death of Professor Dr. Zainul Abedin. He said, Professor Zainul Abedin was the senior most teacher of IBS who died during treatment by being infected with Coronavirus.
He has been buried on Wednesday noon by following the government directives. RU sources informed, Professor Zainul Abedin had been living at the house of his son at Mirpur in Dhaka after his retirement. Several days ago he turned ill and was admitted to the hospital. His wife is also learnt to suffer from Coronavirus.
It is learnt earlier on July-2 RU Professor Emeritus Dr Fakhrul Islam also died of Coronavirus.
