Another ‘Oxygen Express’ of Indian Railways arrives at Benapole port

In the third phase, the 'Oxygen Express' train from India carrying 200 Metric Tonnes (MT) of liquid oxygen in 10 containers entered Bangladesh through Benapole port on Friday.

The train left Benapole port on Friday afternoon for Sirajgonj, west of Bangabandhu Bridge, after completed the customs and port formalities.

The train carrying 200 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen left for Bangladesh from Tata nagar,in India. Linde Bangladesh Ltd: Imported the 200 MT of liquid oxygen. 

In the afternoon, after paying the government revenue and completing the customs and port formalities, the train left for Sirajganj, west of Bangabandhu Bridge.

The empty train will return to India again after unloading oxygen there.

In the third phase, a total of 600 MT of liquid oxygen was imported by Oxygen Express through Benapole port.

Benapole Port Director A Jalil said, “In the third phase, the train 'Oxygen Express' of Indian Railways carrying 200 tons of liquid oxygen arrived at the railway station at Benapole port this afternoon.”

After customs and port formalities, the train left for Sirajgajna, west of Bangabandhu Bridge.

Benapole Customs House Commissioner Md. Azizur Rahman said, The Indian train arrives at the Benapole port railway station in 200 MT of oxygen in 10 containers.

Oxygen was released at the earliest after all formalities at customs and ports, subject to payment of government revenue.
