Another day with no Covid deaths

Bangladesh registered zero deaths from Covid-19 yet again in 24 hours till 8am Monday. The total number of deaths remains at 29,117.

The country recorded 116 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,950,725, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.

The current positivity rate stands 1.06 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.21 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.

Experts believe that the relentless vaccination campaigns conducted at regular intervals played a huge role in bringing down the impact of the deadly virus.

According to them, the country has reached a systematic result due to the efforts of all in tackling the deadly virus. The day before on Sunday, three dead were reported along with 82 new infections. 

A total of 10,927 samples were tested across the country till 8am Monday. Some 1,140 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,871,611 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 95.94 percent.

As of Monday, 6,101,973 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 471,258,701 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
