Another assistant proctor has resigned from the proctorial body of Comilla University (CoU).
Kazi M Anisul Islam, assistant professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department, sent his resignation letter to the registrar of the university on Wednesday.
“An assistant proctor defamed and threatened me showing his power. So, I am embarrassed to perform this duty. Also, I have resigned from the post of assistant proctor demanding justice,” said Anisul Islam.
It is noted that on February 6, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Provost Prof Tofail Hossain Majumdar, on February 7, University Media Adviser Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan, on February 18, Assistant Proctor Mahmudul Hasan and on February 20, Assistant Proctor Md. Kamrul Hasan and Sheikh Hasina Hall resident teacher Kulchum Akter Sapna resigned.
In addition, in the Syndicate meeting on March 19, Prof. Dr. Sheikh Mokhsedur Rahman resigned from the position of a member of the Syndicate, citing the reason of 'non-agenda and illegal appointment of dean'.
On March 20, Assistant Professor of Archeology Department Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan Khan, Assistant Professor of Finance and Banking Department Mohammad Jaseem Uddin, Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department Arnab Biswas and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Department Joy Chandra Rajbanshi along with four house tutors of four halls resigned.
