Police arrested another individual from Chattogram on Sunday in connection with the killing of Aftab Uddin Tahsin.
The arrestee is identified as Md Imran, 19, resident of Bailtali area in Chandanaish upazila.
Tahsin, a brick and sand trader, was murdered at Adurpara in Chandgaon Thana on September 11. Earlier, two other people, Md Helal and Ilias Hossain Apu, were arrested by the police on October 25 in connection with this incident.
Police arrested Imran during a drive conducted at Adurpara area in Changaon Thana around 3.00am on Sunday. A total three persons were arrested in connection with the case, although the ring leader of the murder ‘Cadre Sazzad’ is still out of reach.
According to the police, when Tahsin was killed, the arrestee Imran was suspiciously roaming in the area. In the CCTV footage, he was also seen talking to the passengers of the microbus in which the killers arrived. The police came to know during interrogation that Imran helped the killers by giving information about Tahsin's location. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the main accused Sazzad.
