Another 111 homeless and landless families to get new houses under Asrayan Project-2 at Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat on June 10. Earlier, 330 families got new houses in four phases in the Upazila.
A press briefing was held in this regard at the Upazila conference room in Chitalmari on Thursday. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of the Upazila Md Asmat Hossain briefed journalists about the matter.
The UNO said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over 111 houses to the homeless and landless people of Chitalmari through video conference from Ganabhaban on June 10. A colourful programme will be arranged by the Upazila administration on that day. The construction work of 111 houses has already been completed. These newly-built houses will be handed over to the homeless and landless people in the fifth phase. The Prime Minister will hand over the houses with documents of the land to the beneficiaries through video conference on June 10.
He also said roads, educational institutions, mosque and temple were constructed there to ensure facilities for the beneficiaries. Moreover, there are more planning of the Upazila administration. Besides, tube well was also set up to ensure safe drinking water for them.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Bedbati Mistri, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Doctor Md Mamun Hasan, Upazila Awami League president Md Babul Hossain Khan, Sadar Union Parishad Chairman Md Nizam Uddin Sheikh and others were also present at the press briefing.
