Annual exams of secondary students to begin on Nov 24

The annual examinations of secondary level students, sixth to ninth graders, will be conducted from November 24 to 30. The test examination of the SSC examinees will also be held at the same time.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) shared this information through a press release on Wednesday. Authorities concerned have been instructed to complete these tests properly following health guidelines, the release added.

As per the instructions, tests will be held on Bengali, English and General Mathematics. There will be 50 marks for each subject. The examination time will be one and a half hours instead of three hours as the marks have been halved.

Regarding the examination syllabus, DSHE said the chapters from which assignments (Bengali, English and General Mathematics subjects) have been given and the chapters that have been taught in the classroom after September 12 will be considered as syllabus. 40 marks will be added on the assignment of all the ongoing subjects along with the annual examination number of each student.

The press release further read in the case of sixth to tenth graders, 10 marks will be given for participating in the clean-up activities and complying with the hygiene rules. Besides such activities the sixth graders will get marks for activities in the tree planting project.  

In the 2021 academic year, no school can conduct any other examination except the annual examinations.
