Bangladesh’s playback emperor Andrew Kishore is no more. He died at his elder sister’s home in Mahishbathan area of Rajshahi at 6:55 pm on Monday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Mohammad Abdul Hamid expressed their condolences on the death of the singer. Besides, the death of this artist has cast a shadow of mourning on the music scene of the country.
Andrew Kishore’s brother-in-law Dr. Patrick Bipul Biswas said, “Currently, the body of the artist is kept in the cold storage of Rajshahi Medical Hospital (RAMEC)”.
Andrew Kishor’s son and daughter are currently in Australia. He will be buried next to his mother after all the formalities are concluded following their arrival in the country.
He added, “Before he died, Andrew Kishore himself said that he should be buried next to his mother. He will be buried next to his mother following his wish.”
After nine months of treatment in Singapore, Andrew Kishore returned home on a special flight on June 11 at 2.30 am. After staying at his home in Dhaka for several days, he moved to his village home in Rajshahi to consider his condition and be free from noise.
He was 65 years old at the time of his death. Andrew is survived by his wife, Lipika Andrew, son Andrew Saptak and daughter Andrew Sanga.
