Amite ready for Tigers after NCL success

Wicketkeeper-batsman Amite Hasan has distinguished himself as a key player in the ongoing National Cricket League (NCL), showcasing remarkable consistency. At 23 years old, he leads the run charts with 567 runs across eight innings, boasting an average of 81. His achievements include his first double century and back-to-back centuries. As the captain of Sylhet for the first time, Amite has steered his team to the brink of their inaugural NCL title, holding a solid lead in the points table with two matches remaining. In a recent interview, Amite reflected on his and Sylhet's journey in the NCL.

When discussing his satisfaction with the overall scenario, Amite noted that while they have performed admirably in their first five games, there are still two matches left, and they are not getting ahead of themselves. Their next match is against Barishal, and complacency is not an option.

Following his impressive NCL performance, selectors have indicated that Amite is in contention for the national team. He feels prepared, having been part of the HP Unit for the past three years, and believes he is on the selectors' radar. His current focus remains on finishing the NCL strongly, but he is always ready to represent the national team

Regarding his consistency throughout the five rounds of the NCL, Amite mentioned that he had been part of the High Performance (HP) camp prior to the NCL, which provided excellent practice. Sylhet Division also held a camp in Sylhet and played several practice matches before the league began. Amite prefers to plan on a match-by-match basis rather than making grand plans..

Test cricket requires patience, and Amite's mindset upon arriving at the crease reflects this. He acknowledges that fitness is crucial for a wicketkeeper-batsman, as it demands significant effort to keep wickets and bat for extended periods in longer-format cricket. He has worked diligently on his fitness in the HP Unit. When it comes to batting, he avoids overthinking about scoring milestones like hundreds or fifties before going to the crease, instead focusing on starting his innings in a composed manner.
