AmCham for strategic diplomacy in branding Bangladesh

Leaders of the American Chamber (AMCHAM) on Thursday expressed their commitment to fostering strong relationships with the interim government and ministry of foreign affairs to promoting favorable policies that help boost trade, particularly in attracting foreign direct investment in Bangladesh.

During the discussion, AmCham president emphasized the importance of branding Bangladesh as an investment destination through strategic diplomacy.

The issues were discussed while an AMCHAM delegation, led by its President Syed Ershad Ahmed, called on Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain at his office.

Khandker Masudul Alam, Director General, North America Wing, Samia Israt Ronee, Director, and other North America Wing team members were present.

He advocated for measures for the ease of business operation for the existing US investors and a transparent predictable legal and regulatory environment for attracting potential foreign direct investment (FDI).  The delegation also addressed visa processing facilitation across several countries, highlighting its significance in supporting international business operations. The Honorable Advisor expressed his commitment to these matters, assuring the delegation that these issues are under active consideration. He also encouraged ongoing collaboration for necessary support.

The AMCHAM team reiterated their commitment to fostering strong relationships with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and promoting favorable policies that promote trade and investment in Bangladesh. 

AmCham President also handed over “AmCham Recommendations: The Way Forward” and couple of AmCham research reports related to Bangladesh trade and business.

Along with Syed Ershad Ahmed, AmCham President, Rubaba Dowla, Country Managing Director, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, Oracle Corporation, Ala Uddin Ahmad, CEO, MetLife, Habib Bhuiyan, Country Manager, Excelerate Energy Bangladesh Ltd, Kabir Ahmed, Chairman, Conveyor Logistics Limited and President, BAFFA, Momshad Ali Khan, Director, Coca-Cola Bangladesh Ltd., and Chowdhury Kaiser Mohammad Riyadh, Secretary, AmCham Bangladesh were present at the meeting.
