Although Raojan situation seems dire, it's ahead in all indicators: Ctg Divisional Commissioner

Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Ziauddin said, “Although the situation in Raojan seems in a dire sate, in reality Raojan is ahead in all development indicators." 

"Only the number of murders is comparatively higher here. We want a beautiful and peaceful Bangladesh. For this, political commitment and coordinated efforts are necessary”, he said.

Chattogram Divisional Commissioner came up with the statement at a program organised by the Raozan Upazila administration on Monday where sports equipment was distributed to different educational institutions in the upazila and financial assistance was provided to the needy people.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jisan Bin Majed presided over the program held at the Raojan Upazila Auditorium and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Anching Marma conducted the program.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Belayet Hossain was present as the special guest at the program. Officer-in-Charge of Raojan Police Station Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Masum Kabir, Upazila Primary Education Officer Nurun Nabi, Secondary Academy Supervisor Sajal Kanti Chanda, Social Service Officer Monirul Islam, Cooperative Officer Mintu Barua, Livestock Officer Joyita Basu, Rural Electricity Association GM Harun R Rashid and Upazila Engineer Abul Kalam, along with officials from various departments, spoke.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner held a meeting with government officials working in the Upazila Parishad. During this, UNO Jisan Bin Majed showed a presentation titled “Prospective Raojan” through a TV display, where the development picture of Raojan was presented.

Government officials presented the problems and possibilities of their respective departments before the Divisional Commissioner.

After the program, the Divisional Commissioner inaugurated the newly built “Puljhuri Park” next to the UNO residence.
