The Independence Day has been celebrated in the 'Alor Michil' school of the capital with due dignity and various arrangements. The national flag was hoisted at the school on the occasion of the day.
The event began with the hoisting of the national flag, recitation of the Holy Quran and performance of the national anthem at the Mirpur branch of the "Alor Michil School" is a free educational program for underprivileged children under the auspices of the human rights organization and NGO Sristy Human Rights Society.
Under the direction of Anwar E Taslima, Chairman of the organization, under the chairmanship of Mr. Shahadat Hossen Munna, Vice Chairman, the students performed composition competitions, present speeches and performed music and dance in the cultural program on the occasion of Independence Day. Special prayers and supplications were offered for the forgiveness of the departed souls of the heroic martyrs of the War of Independence and for the welfare of the country and the nation.
Vice Chairman of the organization Joyce Mamun Khandaker, Selina Akhter Khanam, Adviser Golam Mawla, Women's Affairs Secretary Lucky, Director Arifur Rahman, Ismat Jerin, Co-ordinator Md. Sarwar Hossain Jony, Md. Sumon, member Salma spoke on the occasion. Many more were attending that program.
