All women cricketers test negative for Covid-19

All of the women cricketers and supporting staff who were called up for the intensive training at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium were tested negative for the coronavirus, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) women’s wing said, reports BSS.

A total 42 persons including 29 cricketers, officials, coaches, team boys and drivers gave their sample to be tested and they returned negative, much to the elation of the cricket apex body.

After being tested negative, the team however reached Sylhet through a flight this morning. They will start their training tomorrow (Monday).

The practice session for the women’s team will continue till February 2. 

The players and other stakeholders will be tested for the coronavirus again on January 25.

The 29-member squad will undergo fitness and skills training at the month-long camp which also includes five limited overs practice matches.

Foisal Hossain Decans, Assistant Coach Bangladesh Women’s Team will oversee the training camp.
