All set to secure Eid-ul-Fitr: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Friday said DMP has taken all necessary arrangements to celebrate the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr in a peaceful and joyous environment, reports BSS.

“DMP has taken many pragmatic steps regarding home bound people’s Eid journey so that they can go to their native homes and return Dhaka from there safely…. Detective Branch (DB) of police are very much watchful and monitoring bus terminals and railway stations to avert any untoward situation,” he said. He was talking to the journalists while distributing new clothes to distressed children at Kamlapur Railway Station here.

Meanwhile, he distributed around 400 new clothes among street children at different places in the city under the arrangement of Odommo Bangladesh Foundation.

Law enforcement agencies specially detectives have been monitoring the criminals since the beginning of this year, DMP commissioner said, adding that is why they (criminals) did not find any kinds of scope to commit crimes.

Many criminals as well as miscreants have been arrested and imprisoned for DMP’s successful operation, he said, adding: “The criminals are under control as our police forces are working relentlessly to this end.”

Senior officials of the DMP were present on the occasion.
