All rivers continue to swell in Tangail

Although the water of all the rivers of Tangail is rising day by day due to the downstream water from the north, it is still flowing below the danger level.

However, Tangail Water Development Board said there is no danger of flood in the district although the water rises.

It was known that Geographically, Tangail district is known as a safe zone considering natural disasters such as storms, floods, droughts, cold, etc. According to district Water Development Board, water has been rising in all rivers of Tangail since September 25 to September 29. Erosion was seen at some banks of several rivers.

Sources said the water of Jamuna River had increased by 9.02 centimeter at Porabari point and was flowing 2.74 centimeter under the danger level. the water of Bongshai River rose by 5.97cm and was flowing by 2.82cm under the danger level at Bongshaighat point in Mirzapur. 

The water of the river was flowing under the danger level at Kauljani and Shaheed Smriti School points although the water rose in the river. 

Moreover, the water of Dhaleshwari river rose at several points increased but was flowing under the danger level.
