The US joined Israel in attack on Iran in which US forces struck three Iranian nuclear facilities which has led to deadly escalation of tensions in the Middle East. The US strikes on the three nuclear sites have intensified the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict and threatened to destabilise the region.
Iran has confirmed the attacks, stating that people were evacuated from the nuclear sites prior to the strikes. These developments came a week after Israel launched a military offensive against Iran, prompting missile retaliation and resulting in hundreds of casualties on both sides.
Washington claims that its strikes have ‘devastated’ Iran’s nuclear programme and at the same time says that regime change is not its objective.
Such agressive actions manifest a gross violation of the United Nations Charter, particularly in regard to state sovereignty. The current regional turmoil is an inevitable consequence of Israel’s aggressive policies. Its continuous military actions and expansionist ambitions have undermined peace and stability. We cannot but condemn the Israeli aggression against Iran sends shockwaves throughout the world.
We also call upon all parties involved, particularly Israel to immediately end their hostilities through talks in diplomatic efforts. Only peaceful dialogue can prevent nuclear proliferation and ensure long-term regional security.
This escalation poses a great threat to international peace and security. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has warned against yet ‘another cycle of destruction,’ stating that the strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities represent a “perilous turn” in the conflict. The region cannot endure another spiral of violence and retribution.
All parties still have a window of opportunity to end the crisis through diplomatic efforts. If that window closes, the scale of destruction and loss could reach unimaginable levels, and the global non-proliferation framework could collapse entirely. Armed attacks on Iran’s nuclear sities can never be tolerated. Such actions pose severe risks of radioactive contamination with dire consequences in Iran and beyond.

The US actions—under the pretext of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons—amount to waging war. Bangladesh joins the international community in expressing deep concern over these attacks on Iran’s nuclear sites.
These developments only serve to further destabilize an already fragile region and increase threats to global peace and security. We urge the United Nations and the broader international community to take proactive measures toward de-escalation and to promote peace in the Middle East.
Bangladesh reaffirms its commitment to resolving conflicts through peaceful means. We urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint and refrain from actions that escalate tensions. Constructive engagement and adherence to international norms is the only path to lasting peace.
We also condemn Israel’s continued brutal attacks on Palestinians. We demand an immediate end to these heinous acts and call on the global community to act decisively to save innocent lives. We are deeply saddened and alarmed by the scale of Israeli aggression in Palestinian territories, particularly the relentless bombardment of Gaza. Israeli forces have targeted residential areas, places of worship, and civilians—men, women, and children—without warning or justification. Beyond the loss of lives, vital infrastructure continues to be destroyed, deepening humanitarian suffering.
No rationale can justify the deliberate killing of innocent civilians. These are among the most horrific acts of violence perpetrated against unarmed populations in recent history.
Such cruelty, especially the targeting of worshippers and violation of humanitarian law, cannot be accepted in any civilized society. Israel’s actions represent a severe breach of international law, human rights conventions, and global norms, triggering widespread outrage across the world. Protests have erupted globally, including Bangladesh, with citizens demanding justice and an end to Israeli aggression in Palestine and Iran. It is deeply troubling that many of the world's most powerful leaders and governments have remained silent in the face of such atrocities. This silence raises a profound question: Is Israel above international law?
We believe the international community must act decisively to resolve the crisis in Iran and Palestine. Peace cannot be imposed through war and repression; it must be built through justice, equality, and mutual respect.
