Noting that all the party activists are not infiltrators, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that if any activist is not associated with communal forces or involved in the crime will not be identified as ‘intruder’. Those who are accused of specific allegations, the party will not allow them in the party.

Quader made the remarks to the media after a meeting with the party's joint general secretaries and organisational secretaries at the Awami League's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Friday (Nov 8). Hoping that all the disputes will be brought to an end by the forthcoming National Conference of the party and its associate organizations, Quader said, “The party want to see healthy competition among the leaders and activists and it will not tolerate any sort of sick competition in any circumstances.”

He said that Awami League does not have the practice to kick out their activists, only there will be changes in the posts as no one will be in office for a lifetime. The senior party leader added that the BNP leaders are leaving their party due to its negative politics. Speaking on the occasion, AL Presidium Member Mohammed Nasim said councils of different organization units in Rajshahi district will be held ahead of the national council.

Motioning AL as one the oldest political parties in the country, Nasim said it is the only organization which timely holds its triennial national council if there is no problem. He expressed his optimism that under the leadership of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the party would hold its national council in a befitting manner and form a strong committee to start a new journey.

AL Joint General Secretaries Dr Dipu Moni, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Abdur Rahman, Organizing Secretary and State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, AL Office Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua, Central Working Committee Member Nurul Islam Thandu, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Rajshahi district AL President Omar Faruk Chowdhury and General Secretary Asaduzzaman Asad were present on the occasion, among others.
