The anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) again arrested four members of militant organisation Allahr Dal from city’s Ashkona area on early Wednesday. Talking to Bangladesh Post, RAB 1 Commanding Officer (CO) Sarwar Bin Kashem confirmed it.
They were identified as Sirajul Islam Mridha, 38, hailing from Pabna, Moniruzzaman Monir, 40, hailing from Narayanganj, SM Hafizur Rahman, 45, hailing from Khulna and Md Shafiul Moznabin Turin, 27, hailing from Rangpur. RAB also seized three pen drives, twelve phones, leaflets and other Jhihadist publications from their possession. Sources said all arrested terrorists have Jamaat backgrounds. They admitted that they are active members of the terrorist outfit Allahr Dal. During the primary interrogation, Siraj, who was born in 1973, said he could not pass his SSC examination despite appearing four times. Later he joined Allahr Dal through its chief Matin Mehedi in 1999 who is in custody at present. He became head of a village immediately after he joined the terrorist organization. Later he was discharged as head in Jhenaidah, Khulna, Rajshahi and Naogaon districts.
In 2014, he was appointed as the deputy commander of Allahr Dal. Until his arrest, he was working in the same post. He mainly looks after the cases filed against members of Allahr Dal. Militant Moniruzzaman said he was born in 1980. He passed his SSC in 1997, HSC in 1999. Later he completed his graduation and post graduation degree. However, he joined the militant organisation in 1997. Like other arrestees, he also joined Allahr Dal expressing his allegiance to Allahr Dal founder Matin Mehedhi through a terrorist hailing from Gaibandha. Immediately after he became a member, he was appointed as the head of a village. Later he worked as head of Narayanganj, Dhaka, Khulna. In 2009, he was appointed as deputy-commander. He mainly looks after the financial and recruiting issues of Allahr Dal. Terrorist Hafizur was born in 1975. He passed his SSC in 1990, HSC in 1992. Later he finished his graduation and undergraduation degree.
He along with his four or five friends joined Allahr Dal. He was first appointed as head of Khalispur area in Khulna. Later he became head of Khulna district. Between 2014-2019, he worked in several vital posts in Narayanganj, Dhaka, Jessore and Khulna district. He mainly looks after the administrative issues. Turin was born in 1992 in Rangpur. He was a student of Diploma Engineering. But he gave up his studies after completing seventh semester. In 2010, he joined Allahr Dal through his two friends. Arrested Allahr Dal commander Ibrahim Ahmed Hero was his direct leader.
As a commander, he worked in Bogra, Khulna and Jessore district. In 2017, he started working as an executive. He was assigned to solve the problems of the family members of arrested Allahr Dal members. According to the sources, followers of detained top militant leader Matin Mehedi are trying to re-organize in a bid to topple the existing democratic frameworks through armed conflicts and sabotage. Matin, who founded terrorist organization Allah’s Dal, was arrested in 2007. But his close associate Ibrahim Ahmed Hero, who is the acting chief of the militant organisation, was trying to strengthen the capabilities of the outfit. RAB arrested Hero on August 18 from city’s Hathirjeel area.
Members of the Allahr Dal are collecting Zakat from their members and supporters to use the funds for the organisational activities of the terror outfit. Even they are misinterpreting the Holy Quran and Hadiths for collecting terror funds. Islam allows to collect Zakat from the solvent Muslims only during the Holy Month of Ramadan. But the terrorists of Allah’s Dal are collecting so-called Zakat on monthly basis terming the present situation in the country ‘war like situation’.
Allah’s Dal uses all of its funds including Yanat and Zakat only for militancy purpose. They are running some business enterprises to enhance their financial capabilities. All money including profits of these businesses have been deposited in fictitious bank accounts, especially in accounts of female members, it was learned. RAB is investigating the issues. They do not participate in Juma prayer, even do not take part in Eid congregation saying that ‘war like situation’ is prevailing in the country. Members of Allahr Dal even believe that the detained Allahr Dal boss may turn into the special envoy of Allah for this time. They use radical songs to inspire its members, said RAB officials.
RAB officials said Allahr Dal have plans to snatch its detained founder Matin Mehedi from jail in a filmy styled attack. They have chalked out several plans in this regard. They also conducted several survey for making the plan a success. The militant group Allahr Dal has connections with the banned militant outfit JMB, the commander added. RAB also seized mobile phones, pen drives and hard drives from their possession.
Allahr Dal started its activities from Pabna district. But now they are conducting their activities from different parts of the country. RAB came to know that they were trying to recruit retired and terminated persons of different forces to conduct trouble- free armed training of its members.
They have taken a plan to recruit members of then Border Guards of Bangladesh( BGB) who were terminated in connection with their involvement in Pilkhana Tragedy. Allahr Dal changed its name into Allah’s Sarker in 2014 for strategic reasons.
