Alif wins silver in archery

Due to extremely adverse weather conditions in Chinese Taipei on Monday, all medal matches were conducted. Bangladesh's Abdur Rahman Alif secured the silver medal in the U-21 recurve boys' single event final. The match concluded in a 5-5 tie with the host, Chinese Taipei's Huang Li-Cheng. To determine the gold medal winner, both competitors shot one arrow each in a shoot-off.

Alif's arrow landed on the nine, while Huang's arrow hit the ten, resulting in Alif having to be content with the silver medal. Bangladesh also experienced a shoot-off defeat in the U-21 recurve mixed team category.

In the quarter-finals, Bangladesh drew 4-4 in the initial stage against Kazakhstan. Subsequently, each team shot one arrow, with Bangladesh scoring 18 and Kazakhstan scoring 18+.

Bangladesh's Al Shahriar Rahman Joy and Puspita Zaman advanced to the quarter-finals with a bye in the 1/8 elimination round of the U-21 compound mixed team event. Bangladesh progressed to the semi-finals after defeating Iran 154-149 in the quarter-finals. However, they narrowly lost to Chinese Taipei 151-152 in the semi-final. In the bronze medal match of the U-21 compound mixed team event, Bangladesh drew 147-147 with Kazakhstan in the first leg. Each team then shot one arrow, with Bangladesh scoring 15 and Kazakhstan scoring 17, resulting in Bangladesh's defeat.

In the U-21 recurve boys' team event, Bangladesh (Abdur Rahman Alif, Sagar Islam, and Rakib Mia) received a bye in the 1/8 elimination round and advanced to the quarter-finals. They then defeated Saudi Arabia 6-0 in the quarter-finals but were defeated by India 1-5 in the semi-final. In the bronze medal match, Bangladesh lost to Malaysia 1-5.

In the U-18 recurve mixed team event, Bangladesh (Abdullah Al Mohammad Rafi and Md Monira Akhtar) advanced to the quarter-finals with a bye in the 1/8 elimination round. In the quarter-finals, Bangladesh and Iran drew 4-4 in the first stage. Each team then shot one arrow, with Bangladesh scoring 19 and Iran scoring 19+. Consequently, Bangladesh was defeated by Iran 4-5 as Iran's arrow was closer to the centre point.

In the U-18 recurve girls' team event, Bangladesh (Mosa: Monira Akhter, Ms. Arvi Akhter, and Sonli Roy) drew 4-4 with the Philippines in the first leg of the quarter-final match. Each team then shot one arrow, with Bangladesh scoring 25 and the Philippines scoring 26. Based on the results of the last arrow, Bangladesh lost to the Philippines 4-5.

In the U-18 recurve boys' team event, Bangladesh (Abdullah Al Mohammad Rafi, Md Nahid Hasan, and Md Himel Sarwar) advanced to the quarter-finals with a bye in the elimination round. They then defeated Kazakhstan 5-1 in the quarter-finals but were defeated by South Korea 0-6 in the semi-final. In the bronze medal match, Bangladesh was defeated by Chinese Taipei 0-6.
