Alif advances to Asian Youth Championships final

Abdur Rahman Alif has made a significant mark at the Asian Archery Youth Championships by advancing to the final of the Men's Recurve Under-21 event. His journey to the final was highlighted by a decisive 7-1 set points victory over Iran's Mohammed Hossein Golshani Asl in the semi-final, held in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, on Sunday.

Alif, a dedicated student at BSKP, will now compete against Li-Cheng Huang of Chinese Taipei in the highly anticipated gold medal match scheduled for Tuesday.

In the semi-final, Alif showcased his composure and skill right from the start. The first set ended in a 29-29 draw, indicating a closely contested match. However, Alif quickly gained the upper hand, winning the next three sets with scores of 28-27, 27-26, and 29-28, respectively. His ability to maintain focus and deliver under pressure was evident throughout the match.

The 18-year-old archer's path to the final began with a strong performance in the qualification round, where he secured fourth place. In the second round, Alif demonstrated his dominance by defeating Tajikistan's Ganiev Abdumalik with a flawless 6-0 victory. 

This win set the tone for his subsequent matches.

In the pre-quarterfinals, Alif faced a tougher challenge against Kazakhstan's Magzhanov Vladislav. The match was closely contested, but Alif emerged victorious with a 6-4 win, showcasing his resilience and tactical acumen. Moving into the quarterfinals, Alif continued his impressive form by defeating Tai-Yen Liu 6-2, securing his place in the semi-finals.

Alif's journey through the tournament has been marked by consistent performances and a display of exceptional archery skills. His progression to the final is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and the rigorous training he has undergone at BSKP.

As Alif prepares for the final against Li-Cheng Huang, he carries the hopes of his nation and the support of his teammates and coaches. The upcoming match promises to be a thrilling contest, with Alif aiming to clinch the gold medal and further establish
