Ali Abbas’ death anniv observed in Nawabganj

Dhaka district and Nawabganj upazila units Bangladesh Workers Party observed the 8th death anniversary of Khondoker Ali Abbas, a senior leftist politician and former general secretary of Bangladesh Samyabadi Dal.

The party brought out a mourning rally on Saturday marking the day. The party leaders and workers also placed floral wreath at his graveyard. Later, a discussion was held on life. 

Speakers of the discussion said that Khondoker Ali Abbas was a celebrity politician in 70's and 80's in Munshiganj, Manikganj and Dohar areas. He had no temptation over power. He had no desire to be an MP or Mayor. He passed his life only for the people. 

Comrade Abdul Barek, president of Bangladesh Workers Party’s Dhaka district unit, presided over the programme while Comrade Azharul Haque, Secretary of Dhaka district unit conducted the programme.

It was attended by, among others, by Beby Abbas, Nasiruddin Bahar, Abdul Jalil, Shah Md Asadullah, Aslam Khan, and Subhas Thakur of Samyobadi Dal.
