Alexey Deriy has been appointed Vice-President - Director for Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) construction project of JSC ASE. Previously he was the Head of Kursk NPP construction Project, Rosatom, a subsidiary of Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation official said.
Rooppur nuclear power plant is the country’s first nuclear power plant. The power plant is being implemented by Rosatom. The main construction work of the power plant is continuing at Rooppur in Pabna district while its essential machineries are being made in Russia, said a press release.
It is a top priority project on the Bangladesh government’s agenda, all the way up to the Prime Minister’s Office. The project will host two units, each with the latest generation 3+ VVER 1200 reactor. Total capacity of the plant is estimated to be 2,400 MW.
Introducing Alexey Deriy in his new capacity, Alexandr Lokshin, President of ASE EC JSC - First Deputy Director General for Operations Management of Rosatom State Corporation, pointed out that the experience and competences of Alexey Deriy that he had acquired during the construction of Kursk NPP and other nuclear facilities will prove useful during the implementation of the priority construction project in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Lokshin also thanked Sergey Lastochkin who had been in charge of Rooppur NPP Project, for accomplishing all the assigned tasks and making a significant contribution to the development of the nuclear industry.
Alexey Vladimirovich Deriy was born on March 4, 1980 in Novovoronezh. He graduated from South-Russian State Polytechnic University. Deriy began his professional career in FSUE Novovoronezh branch of “Atomtechenergo Firm”. Later he worked in JSC Atomstroy export as Deputy Head of directorate for I &C and Deputy Head of directorate for NPP construction in Iran. In 2013, Deriy took over the Hanhikivi NPP construction Project, and in 2014 - the Project in Iran; from 2018 to 2021 Deriy was Vice-President - Director for Kursk NPP construction Project. Deriy was awarded medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland (2nd degree), honorable distinctions “For contribution to the nuclear industry” (2nd and 3rd degree), medal “Participant of construction of power unit No 4 of Rostov NPP” and industry Certificates of Appreciation.
