Alauddin Al Azad, chairman of Kola union parishad (UP) in Kaliganj upazila of the district was selected as the best UP chairman in Jhenaidah. He was nominated as best chairman in the evaluation meeting of the district administration for the month of February. Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Rafiqul Islam had conferred Alauddin Al Azad the crest in the meeting in his conference room on Thursday.
Local Government Deputy Director Yearul Islam, additional district magistrate (ADM) Salma Selim and additional deputy commissioner (ADC, general) Rathindra Nath Roy among others present. DC SM Rafiqul Islam in his speech said the district administration has been choosing the employees, officials and peoples’ representatives through an evaluation in every month so that the people rendering their services with utmost sincerity and honesty might be honoured as recognition.
This sort of honour will encourage the workers, employees and elected representatives to render services for the wellbeing of the people from their respective corners.
It will help build the Smart Bangladesh as desired by the Prime Minster, DC SM Rafiqul Islam said.
