Alauddin, Chuadanga

Alamdanga Mohila Degree College is known as the best college for women's education in Chuadanga. The girls who passed this college have been working in various prestigious positions at home and abroad.

The college was established in 1999 with 18 female students. The government issued letter for MPO in 1904. Now the college runs with HSC programme, BMA programme and Degree with 1041 students. HSC and BMA programme have been affiliated and allowed MPO by the government. Degree programme of the college is affiliated by the concerned authority but MPO is not given still now.

The college is situated on 3 bighas of land in the upazila town. There are one administrative building and two academic buildings. The condition of administrative building is bad. The academic buildings are not so good.

The students of the college demanded a four-storied building with 12-room for using academic activity and declaration as government college. They also thanked   Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for giving them more opportunity and assistance for higher education.

The students stated that Alamdanga upazila is the largest upazila of the district. Girl students are coming from remote areas of the upazila for higher education. Most of them are poor. If it is turned into a Government College, different fees including tuition fees of the college will not be high so poor girl students will not be drop-outs.

Abdur Rahman, a lecturer of the college said Alamdanga is the largest upazila of the district. A large numbers of female students are in the upazila. They would like to study at Alamdanga Mohila College, as it is only Girls’ College in the upazila.

Abu Sale Mohammad Salah Uddin, principal of the Mohila Degree College told this correspondent that 30 teachers have been working in the college. They are very attentive to teach them.
