Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said the Awami League government wants the national polls to be free and fair like they are in the UK. She made the comment when UK Foreign Minister James Cleverly along with his wife Susannah Sparks called on her at the Claridge's Hotel in London.
The premier said her party Awami League always maintains democracy in the country. The ruling Awami League has given the country’s democracy a strong footing.
The UK foreign minister has talked about the upcoming general election in Bangladesh and they want a fair election to be held in the country. Sheikh Hasina has also expressed her firm commitment and determination to holding a fair election.
The AL government has done everything required to hold a fair election that includes introducing a voter list with photographs and transparent ballot boxes so that none can manipulate the polls.
Relations between Bangladesh and the UK are very deep-rooted and it is being further consolidated as the days approach and the relationship has been strengthened over the years.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party has no respect for democratic system of Bangladesh. The party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has termed the constitutionally and democratically elected government as an illegal-unelected government because they have no respect for the democratic system.
We all have to be united
in order to thwart
constant conspiracies
of the evil forces
Elections will be held on time to protect the constitutional continuity following the democratic process in the coming days.
The people of this country will not accept the handover of power to any undemocratic evil power by disrupting the democratic process.
After independence, Bangabandhu had established all the sectors of the state on a solid foundation to establish the democratic rights of the people of this country. Bangladesh needs leadership like Sheikh Hasina to face all the obstacles and move forward on the path of prosperity.
We all will have to stand united against any evil force that wants to foil the country’s next general elections.
The countrymen irrespective of political affiliations will have to join together to build a welfare-oriented state keeping the beloved motherland away from conflicts and any extremist and terror acts.
Election is the only way to come to power or bring change as the politics of terror and violence in the name of movement can never be beneficial for the country, society and economy; rather, it makes the political atmosphere chaotic.
People now understand that the negative politics of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party has gobbled up the party. Countrymen also know who carried out bomb, grenade and bullet attacks, smuggled in 10-truck arms and misappropriated the money of the public and the orphans.
Therefore, we all have to be united in order to thwart the constant conspiracies of the evil forces.
