Ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) wants to remain active against conspiracies at home and abroad, intruders in the party and extremists in the country as well as to keep the party organized in new year 2021 through elections to various local government bodies.
Many of the leaders in the party’s policy making level said they have decided to take it as a challenge to fight against the conspirators, intruders and extremists by keeping the political field under control.
They also said there is no alternative to the spirit of the War of Liberation as well as the secularism to fight the anti-liberation forces who are always trying to destabilize the country situation through hatching conspiracies, circulating propagandas and spreading extremism.
Talking to Bangladesh Post, some AL senior leaders said that since the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman could not be celebrated properly due to COVCID-19 pandemic, the AL-led government has decided to celebrate the golden jubilee event of the great independence this year amid more festivities. Besides, the extended programmes of the ‘Mujib Borsho’ centring the birth centenary of Bangabandhu will also be celebrated this year.

The senior Awami League leaders also said that they party and its leaders and activists will also remain active centring the elections to representatives of different bodies of the Local Government, including municipalities, union parishad, upazila and zila parishad.
Besides, the AL is also willing to complete councils of different units of the party as well as its different associate bodies as part of the move of reorganizing the party in the grass root level, the party leaders said.
Some of the senior leaders said the Awami League is now very much aware of the conspiracies hatching by vested quarters, who want to create anarchy and destabilize the situation in the name of Islam or religion.
Awami League Organiying Secretary SM Kamal Hossain said, "We want to keep the organization more dynamic through councils in the grassroot levels.”
“Now we are aware of conspiracies of fundamentalists on the issue of sculpture, foreign conspiracies in the name of civil society,” he said.
AL’s presidium member Kazi Zafarullah said that the party will remain active through various programmes throughout the year to make Awami League a highly reputed organization.
“We will work throughout the year to turn Awami League into a more active organization,” he said.
He further said, "Conspiracies are being hatched to destabilize the government as well as the country. The Awami League will work with the utmost sincerity and strength to maintain political stability in the country by strengthening the organisation. We have to keep a watchful eye this year, as this year we will celebrate the golden jubilee of independence.”
It should be mentioned that almost the entire 2020 had remained engulfed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid the pandemic, various conspiracies were hatched in last year. The anti-liberation forces, extremists and conspirators at home and abroad had tried to destabilize the country in many ways.
They had spread various propaganda against construction of Padma Bridge as well as the development and economic growth. Vested quarters had also tried to create anarchy in the country through fanaticism.
Besides, activities by some intruders in the party and their allies have created many scopes for criticism. Party sources said the party also has decided to remain alert so that no more intruders could get post and position in the party in future.
