A delegation of central Awami League (AL) paid deep respect by placing wreath at the mausoleum of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara here Friday morning, marking the 52nd Victory Day.
The delegation led by AL presidium member Lt. Col. Muhammad Faruk Khan, MP, and the central leaders of AL paid their glowing tributes to Bangabandhu by placing wreaths at the mausoleum.
A special prayer was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and his martyred family members of August 15, 1975 massacre and 1971 martyrs.
Besides, prayers were offered seeking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's good health, her long life and success.
Central Awami League Organizing Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain, Chittagong Hill Tracts Accord Implementation and Monitoring Committee Convener (Minister Level) Abul Hasnat Abdullah, Central Executive Committee Member of Awami League Iqbal Hossain Apu, MP, AL Central Committee Member Marufa Akhter Poppy, Gopalganj District Awami League President Mahbub Ali Khan, General Secretary GM Shahabuddin Azam, Tungipara Upazila Awami League President Sheikh Abul Bashar Khair, Vice President Elias Hossain, General Secretary Md Babul Sheikh, Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Tungipara Municipal Awami League President Sheikh Saiful Islam and General Secretary Forkan Biswas also paid their homage to Bangabandhu.
