Police arrested a leader of the banned political party, Awami League (AL) in an explosive case from Islampur upazila in Jamalpur district on Saturday night.
The arrested is Alinur Islam, 40, a resident of Char Goalini union in the upazila. Alinur was former president of the banned political party’s union unit. Islampur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) AFM Atikur Rahman confirmed the incident and said that they conducted a drive and arrested him from his residence.
The arrested has been sent to jail after being produced before the court, added the OC.
