AL leader arrested for sabotage in B’baria

Awami League leader Dr Abu Sayed was arrested on charge of sabotage from Brahmanbaria Medical College in Ghatura area of Brahmanbaria on Sunday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Brahmanbaria sadar police station Mozaffar Hossain confirmed the matter.

Dr Mohammad Abu Sayed is the vice-president of the Brahmanbaria District Awami League. He is also the founding Chairman of Brahmanbaria Medical College Hospital.

Soruces from the police station said on August 4, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, Dr Abu Sayed, armed with local weapons, physically assaulted the leaders and activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement along with the general public. That day, under the leadership of the Awami League leader, there were incidents of physical assault, as well as bomb and cocktail explosions during the student movement in the Fulbari area of Brahmanbaria district. OC Mozaffar Hossain said Abu Sayed was arrested in a joint operation in connection with a sabotage case. He is also facing another case against him.
