"Under the leadership of Bangladesh Awami League president and parliamentary party leader Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her party has nominated an extraordinary person for the post of president," said Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud.

In response to the questions of journalists at the secretariat on Sunday, he said, "Bear freedom fighter Advocate Shahabuddin Chuppu has done field politics. He took risks while doing politics; he protested the killing of Bangabandhu. He is a freedom fighter, who has a combination of politeness, humility as well as political wisdom. And the reason for BNP's disinterest in this matter is their disrespect for the democratic process.

After submitting the nomination papers of Shahabuddin Chuppu proposed by General Secretary Obaidul Quader and supported by Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud for the post of President for the post of Awami League, the Information and Broadcasting Minister held a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Newspaper Parishad-BSP at the secretariat in the afternoon. After the meeting, he answered the questions of the journalists. Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Humayun Kabir Khondkar, BSP President Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and General Secretary MG Kibria Chowdhury addressed the meeting.

"Advocate Shahabuddin Chuppu is a brave freedom fighter, actively participated in the liberation war,” Hasan Mahmud said. "On March 23, 1971, Sahabuddin was one of the people who hoisted the independence flag at Pabna Town Hall Maidan." He served as General Secretary of Pabna Edward College Chhatra League in 1967-68, Vice President of Pabna District Chhatra League in 1969-70, President of District Chhatra League in 1970-73 and President of District Jubo League in 1974-75. In 1975 Bangabandhu protested the assassination, marched against the perpetrators and advocate Shahabuddin Chuppu was arrested on August 20 for that crime and spent more than 3 years in jail. After his release from prison, he served as the Publicity Secretary of Pabna District Awami League in 1980,” he added.

"Then Advocate Shahabuddin Chuppu joined the BCS Judicial Cadre and in 1995-96 he was elected as the Central Secretary General of the Judicial Service Association," said the Information and Broadcasting Minister. He played an important role in exposing the untruth. As you know, the fact that there was no corruption in the Padma bridge has been proved in the Canadian court.

In response to the question that 'BNP leaders have no interest in presidential nomination', Dr. Hasan said, 'BNP has no interest in the country itself. The main focus of all their interest is Tariq Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia. See how they made the convicted accused Tariq Rahman their acting chairman and dream of bringing him back to Bangladesh! We also want him to come back, face punishment, face justice. And all their interest in Begum Khaleda Zia's health. They have no interest in the people or the country.

He said, 'Actually, BNP can say that it has no interest in the presidential election because it is disrespectful to democracy or the democratic process. It means they have no interest in democracy and democratic process.

Hashan Mahmud said, "BNP took the march program at the union level with the dishonest intention of spreading conflict and creating chaos in the country. The leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League were on alert, held a peaceful rally, so they could not create chaos in the whole country. Still, their arsonists joined those rallies with arms raised at various places. The people of Bangladesh will no longer give them the opportunity to create that situation like in 2013-14-15.

Earlier, in a meeting with BSP, he said, "Our government is a media-friendly government." Sheikh Hasina is media friendly Prime Minister. That is why the mass media has developed in Bangladesh in the last 14 years. Daily newspapers have grown from 4,500 to 12,60, online media has expanded, and television stations have gone from 10 to 36 broadcasts. FM and community radios have also received licenses from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In the meeting, the BSP leaders made 15 demands, including payment of outstanding bills of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, distribution of crores of paper to national, regional and local dailies according to policy, implementation of fair advertisement distribution management in media listed newspapers, inclusion of BSP representatives in various committees under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. presented The minister assured to review the claims.
