A discussion meeting was held in Banshkhali upazila and Municipality of Chittagong on the initiative of Awami League, Juba League, Chhatra League and Mahila Awami League on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Mohiuddin Chowdhury Khoka, Organising Secretary of Upazila Awami League and chairman of Sadhanpur Union, presided over the discussion that held at the Upazila Parishad ground on Wednesday afternoon. Chattogram-16 MP Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury was present at the discussion meeting as the chief guest.
Chairman of Baharchhara Union and President of Upazila Juba League Professor Tajul Islam was present as the special guest and spoke on the occasion. Chairman of Saral Union Rashid Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of Kalipur Union Shahadat Alam, Chairman of Bailchhari Union, Kafil Uddin, Chairman of the Sheikh Khel Union.
Yasin Sikder, Chambal Union Chairman Mujibul Haque Chowdhury, Khankhanabad Union Chairman Badruddin Chowdhury, Joint Convener of Municipality Awami League Advocate SM Tofail Bin Hossain, Convener of Municipality Juba League Mohammad Hamid Ullah, Mahamudul Islam, President of Olama League Maulana Akhtar Hossain, Organizing Secretary of Youth Women's League Hiramani and other leaders were also present at the meeting.
Speaking as the chief guest, MP Mustafizur Rahman Chowdhury said, "The dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was to build this country as a hunger and poverty-free country."
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of the Father of the Nation, has made that dream a reality today,” he added.
