AL-affiliated bodies in Ctg demand punishment of Tarique Zia

Awami Leage affiliated Jubo League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League in Chattogram city staged a protest rally demanding exemplary punishment of the ‘main mastermind of the 21st August grenade attack’ and BNP BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman.

Manowarul Alam Chowdhury Nobel, organising secretary of Nagar Jubo League led lead the protest procession of Akbarshah and Pahartali Thana Jubo League, Swechasebak League and Chhatra League started from AK Khan Intersection of the city on Saturday afternoon.

Addressing the rally, Manowarul Alam Chowdhury Nobel, said that this anti-independence party (BNP) killed our father of the nation Bangabandhu on August 15, 1975, similarly, their successor Khaleda Zia's son Tarique Zia, under the instructions of Khaleda Zia, attacked our leader with a grenade attack.   “Our leader (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) survived that day but 24 lives were lost, 300 party leaders and activists including Bangabandhu's daughter were injured.  Even today, that scene floats in front of my eyes.” He added.

Tarique Zia, the main mastermind of this incident, is still absconding abroad.  I demand that Tarique Zia, son of Khaleda Zia's, be brought to the country and sentenced to death to remove the stigma from these dark chapters of independent Bengal, he demanded.

Awami League leader Syed Kaynad Morshed Kanak, former Deputy Entertainment Secretary of Omargani MES College Students' Union Habibur Rahman Ripon, former Publicity Secretary of Chhatra League Abu Taiyob, Chittagong Metropolitan Jubo League Leader Hossain Ahmed Rubel, Joint General Editor of Ward No. 28 Jubo League Alamgir Chowdhury Alo, Chittagong were present.
