Akshay Kumar has become the only Indian to feature in Forbes’ list of World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities of 2019. The actor ranks 35th on the coveted list, which is topped by hitmaker Taylor Swift.
The magazine calls Akshay ‘Bollywood’s top-earning star’, with an earning of at least 5-10 million USD per film. Currently, he has a number of interesting films in the pipeline - Jagan Shakti’s ‘Mission Mangal,’ Farhad Samji’s ‘Housefull 4,’ Raj Mehta’s ‘Good News,’ Raghava Lawrence’s ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’.
A significant chunk of Akshay’s earnings also come from his brand endorsements. Currently, he endorses more than 20 top brands across categories.
With a total earning of 65 million USD from June 2018-June 2019, Akshay has beaten international A-listers like Rihanna, Jackie Chan, Bradley Cooper and Scarlett Johansson.
On the work front, Akshay is currently gearing up for the release of Mission Mangal, which will hit the theatres this Independence Day. The film revolves around India’s first interplanetary mission - the Mars Orbiter Mission. —CNBC
