The American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organized a Freshers’ Reception on Saturday, to welcome newly admitted students of the Summer 2024-25 semester. The event was held on the university campus with separate sessions for freshers from its five faculties.
Officials from the Office of Student Affairs briefed the students on the university’s academic programmes, regulations, services, and support facilities. The orientation aimed to help new students adjust to campus life and prepare for the academic journey ahead.
Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AIUB, attended the program as the chief guest. In her speech, she congratulated the new students and their parents, encouraging them to move ahead with discipline, focus, and a positive attitude in this new phase of their academic lives.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Saiful Islam also addressed the gathering, urging students to take full advantage of the university’s facilities, learning resources, and opportunities. He emphasized the importance of academic integrity, active participation, and responsible citizenship among students. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Proctor, Deans, and Department Heads spoke at the sessions, offering valuable advice and guidance to the newcomers. They highlighted the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to studies and extracurricular activities.
The programme was attended by faculty members, university officials, students, and guardians. Following the formal sessions, a cultural program was presented by members of the AIUB Performing Arts Club (APAC). The performances added a festive mood to the day and provided freshers with a glimpse of the university’s vibrant cultural scene.
