AISP provides treatment to animals like vets illegally

A group of non government organization (NGO) men who have educated only artificial insemination service providing work, they have been randomly providing treatment like fully fledged veterinary physician to all categories animals including cattle, goats resulting those animals suffer from diseases even to die for wrong treatment.

Narayanganj district head officer (BRAC) Humayun Kobir told the Bangladesh Post responded in a query that so far he knows such kind of artificial insemination service provider (AISP) trained for a short term course and assign insemination and helping delivery to the animals in the union levels. 

He further said that the detailed information will be provided to you by Md Yunus Ali who is head of the veterinary department of our organization for Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Munshiganj district.

Yunus Ali said that the AISP’s have no right to provide any treatment to any animals as they are not educated in veterinary medicine. They have completed only a short term course in artificial insemination service providing course. So, they have no other job like animal treatments. Our previous AISP’s were 8th graders and now we ask SSC passed people. 

Their basic educational qualification is very low. He urged this correspondent that he has 96 AISPs’ and gave the common direction to don’t work without their training jurisdiction.  

District livestock officer Bashona Akter said that she has 10 doctors of veterinary medicine (DVM) including 5 upazila livestock officers. 

She added that I have been doing administrative jobs and has no education in veterinary medicine so I am not capable to provide treatment to the animals. 

But how the NGO volunteer’s who were significantly trained for artificial insemination service provider how to dare to treatment the animals. She absolutely turned it into a crime.   

Two dairy farms owners Awlad Hossain and Nur Islam, resident of West Deovog area under Kashipur union of Fatulla police station in Narayanganj alleged this correspondent their two cows died of wrong treatment by an AISP Mostak Ahmed’s treatment. 

The non-educated dairy farm owner didn’t know that Mostak Ahmed is not a veterinary physician. They have common belief in Mostak Ahmed as a physician.

District livestock officer Bashona Akter informs that there are three thousand and five hundred animal farms including dairy, poultry. According to the number of animal farms our manpower is insufficient.
