A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Digital Security Agency, Bangladesh Computer Council and the Directorate of Cyber Warfare and Information Technology under the Bangladesh Air Force, for mutual cooperation in cyber security.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present as the chief guest on the occasion.
The MoU was signed by Md Abdus Sattar Sarkar, Director (Administration and Finance), Digital Security Agency; Barkatullah and Air Commodore Md Touhidul Islam, Director, Department of Cyber Warfare and Information Technology, Bangladesh Air Force.
In his keynote address on the occasion, the State Minister for ICT said that it is not possible for a single person or organization to ensure cyber security. This requires a concerted effort. He emphasized on personal and institutional awareness.
He said the digital security agency's BGD e-Gov shirt is working on cyber security. This team is being strengthened. He said 26 important information infrastructures like Bangladesh Bank, NID and Passport have been identified (Critical Information Infrastructure Identify). The ICT department is working to protect all these infrastructures.
He said better benefits could be reaped if the Digital Security Agency, Bangladesh Computer Council and Bangladesh Air Force worked together to exchange information and avoid risks in cyber security.
He said that a group of cyber attacks are being carried out on a regular basis, adding that cyber attacks have been carried out many times from outside in order to shut down the Corona vaccination program 'Suraksha' app. Our experienced manpower has handled it well.
Among others present on the occasion were NM Ziaul Alam, Senior Secretary, ICT Department, Md. Shafiqul Alam, Assistant Chief Air Vice Marshal, Bangladesh Air Force, Md. Khairul Amin, Director General, Digital Security Agency and Perth Pratim Dev, Executive Director, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).
