Air chief returns home from Russia

Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat returned home on Saturday following a six-day official visit to Russia, said a press release of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.   

During the visit, he attended the ‘International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2019)’ Air Show in Russia. MAKS-2019 provides a unique opportunity to the Aviation experts and businessmen for establishing multilevel connections and developing industrial cooperation.

He held a courtesy meeting with the Russian Air Chief and exchanged views on different issues of bilateral interest. During the meeting, he highly appreciated and recognized the contribution of Russia in building Bangladesh Air Force by providing modern aircraft, radar etc. soon after the independence of Bangladesh. Air Chief had shown keen interest to take this bi-lateral Air Force relationship to a higher standard. He proposed in the discussion for Air Staff talks between BAF and Russian Air Force to explore areas of future cooperation.

He also made a call on the Chief of Department of Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) of Russia. Besides, he met with the high officials of ROSOBORONEXPORT and Aviation Corporation IRKUT in the Air Show. During the call on, they discussed on different matters of defence arms and technology of both countries and exchanged views on bilateral issues. 

Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat left Dhaka for Russia on 26 August 2019 on an official visit at the invitation of the Chief of Department of Federal Service for Military Technical Cooperation of Russia.
