Air Chief returns home from Australia

Air chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan returned home on Monday after an official visit to Australia.

According to the ISPR, the army chief left Dhaka for Australia on Friday for an official visit along with spouse and two entourages at the invitation of Air Marshal MEG Hupfeld, Chief of Air Staff, Royal Australian Air Force.

During the visit, Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan attended the ‘Air and Space Power Conference-2022’ at the National Convention Center in Australia. This conference was also attended by Chiefs of Royal Air Force, US Pacific Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force, Maldives National Defense Force, Sri Lanka Air Force, German Air Force, Indian Air Force, Thai Air Force, Military Advisor of UN Peace Operations, high officials from the Air Force of Qatar, Malaysia and Italy. 

The theme of “Air and Space Power Conference-2022” is “Resilience and Innovation in Air and Space”. The event focused on innovative approaches of air and space power for ensuring geo strategic security in the Indo-Pacific region amidst rapidly changing global security scenario. Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan  also joined the “Sir Richard Williams Foundation Conference” which was focused on exploring the force multiplying capability and increasingly complex requirements associated with Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). These two visits offered opportunity for Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan  to exchange views with the Air Force delegations attending the conference. It will surely enhance the knowledge for implementing effective methods and plans to deal with upcoming security threats by BAF. 

The existing bilateral relations between Royal Australian Air Force and BAF will be further strengthened by this visit.
