Bangladesh is fighting a severe battle with Covid-19 Pandemic. Lower-income families are victims of the drastic changes most compared to others. AIM Initiative Foundation, a registered non-profit organization based in Dhaka, came upfront to distribute soaps, sanitizers, masks, and essential food items and necessities to the daily wage earners and PPE to the front-line health workers.

The foundation started providing PPE to healthcare professionals at the beginning of the virus outbreak. The donations have been collected through online and offline fundraising campaigns. The organization also supported families outside Dhaka, in Rajshahi, Sirajgonj, and Tongi. To this date, more than 2,600 people were served with essential food items and necessities by the organization.

With Project named “Ghure Darao” the organization is working closely with low-income families, providing them with assets such as Rickshaw, Sewing Machine, Vegetable Vans, and others income-generating sources as  per their requirements. The goal of this project is to provide financial stability to these families through employment.

Aside from these social and youth-led activities, AIM Initiative Foundation started its “AIM Live Discussions” with the participation of personalities such as Bipasha Hayat (Bangladeshi actress, model, and painter), Zara Mahbub (CEO & Country Director, Kazi IT), Samir Obaid (Drug Addiction survivor & Tedx Speaker), Naveed Mahbub (Bangladeshi comedian and columnist), Dr. Shruti Kapoor (Founder, Sayfty-India), Ashfique Rizwan (Social Media Coordinator at Therapeutic Spiral International), Dr. Abir Shaqran Mahmood (Assistant Airport Health Officer- Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka) and others.

AIM Initiative Foundation intended to bring professionals from different walks of life to discuss on embracing new health rules for post-pandemic survival.

AIM Initiative Foundation was established in 2016 by its Chairman Md. Currently, hundred and one students from KG level to standard three are getting free education from AIM School Meraidya in Banasree of Dhaka.

The foundation is continuing students’ learning through their “Tele-Education” project, where these students are getting their daily lessons, counseling, and educational necessities as per their requirements. The teachers are regularly working from home via phone calls as the children do not have access to Internet and online content.

Another notable project AIM Initiative Foundation runs titled “Project HER” is an awareness campaign on the importance of menstrual hygiene management among young women, which has been promoted since 2019. Till February 2020, more than 1,000 young women from seven different schools in Bangladesh were involved with the awareness campaign that is now continuing via social media by providing awareness posters and telephone counseling.
