The Agriculture Ministry will import around 65 lakh metric tons non-urea fertilizer (TSP, DAP and MOP) from seven countries in the next five years, reports BSS.
In this regard, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Thursday approved the proposal of importing the non-urea fertilizer through singing five-year agreements with Russia, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Belarus and Canada from 2020 to 2025. Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal presided over the meeting.
Briefing the reporters after the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Nasima Begum said every year, the Agriculture Ministry will import 13 lakh metric tons non-urea fertilizer at a cost of Taka 5,000 crore.
