Agriculture Minister to join AIM for Climate

Agriculture minister and presidium member of Awami League  Dr. Md. Abdur Razzque is going to Dubai to attend the first ministry level meeting of Agriculture innovation mission (AIM) for Climate at the invitation of the United Arab Emirates and the United States. This meeting will be held on February 20 to February 21 at Word Expo Dubai.

AIM for Climate is a joint venture of UAE and US. It started it’s journey from 26th UN Climate Conference which was held in Scotland last year. This 5 year tenures initiative aims to invent smart agricultural technology and food system innovation through expanded research and co –operation to tackle the effect of climate change. More than 30 countries agriculture ministers and other private representatives are going to attend the meeting.

Bangladesh Agriculture minister is going to present the effect of climate change in Bangladesh agricultural sector and the government initiatives to tackle the problem and the challenges. 

After the end of the meeting, agriculture minister will participate in food, agriculture and livelihood at world expo, Dubai and will attend weekly seminar of agriculture ministry, food ministry and ministry of fisheries and livestock. Apart from this, He will sit with Bangladeshi and foreign businessmen. 

He is likely to return on 23 February.
