Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through video conference inaugurated the distribution of stipend and tuition fee under Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust from Gonobhaban On Thursday last.
At the same time, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Deputy Minister of Education, Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury and Secretary of Education along with Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, MD and CEO of Agrani Bank Limited and Kamal Kadir, CEO, bKash from Ministry of Education were connected to the video conference virtually.
At the request of Education Minister, Agrani bank and bKash in an honorary gesture to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have distributed the stipend and tuition fee without receiving any commission.
It has saved the Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Fund about Tk. 54 Lakhs. For this, Education Minister has thanked and expressed gratitude to MD and CEO of Agrani Bank Limited and CEO of bKash.
In the Program, Tk 102,74,00,000 has been disbursed to 2,10,000 students through mobile banking and Tk 14 crore to 2000 educational institutions through online payment system.
Earlier, Agrani Bank in Cooperation with bKash successfully completed distribution of stipend money through mobile to 45 Lakhs students at less cost in a hassle free way.
