Affected people of Tepakhola Lake beautification project demand rehabilitation

Victims of the Tepakhola Lake Beauty Enhancement Project in Faridpur city have rallied a human chain also provided a memorandum along with the deputy commissioner demanding rehabilitation.

About 500 people from the damaged bus stand owners 'association, shop owners' association and several affected families of Tepakhola Lakepar took part in a sit-in on the road in front of Faridpur Press Club at 10 am on Wednesday.

Former president of 8th ward of Faridpur Municipality Awami League Iqbal Hossain Faisal, businessmen Alhaj Md. Raisuddin Munshi, Hakimuddin, Akkas Mollah, MH Swapan, Jihad Munshi, Zahiruddin Nawab and others spoke in the human chain.

At that time, they said, we want the Tepakhola Lake beauty enhancement project to be implemented. However, in the implementation of this project, many poor families including 200 shops and two mills will be affected, they will have to be rehabilitated.

Note that Faridpur District Council is going to start the work of beautifying and parking the Tepakhola Lake. The district council has issued notices to remove many poor families, including 200 shops and two mills in Lekpara.
