Adviser SK Bashir Uddin and China Ambassador Yao Wen visit Premier Bank pavilion

The two-day “Belt and Road Initiative in Bangladesh Exhibition 2025”, organised by the Embassy of China in Bangladesh, concluded on September 14 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka. Premier Bank participated in the exhibition with a pavilion at Hall-2, Stall 75 & 76.

The event was inaugurated by SK Bashir Uddin, Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, while the Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, delivered the keynote address.

Among the special guests were Md Sabur Hossain, Additional Secretary, Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Mirana Mahrukh, Additional Secretary and Wing Chief, Economic Relations Division, Ministry of Finance.

Following the inaugural session, Adviser SK Bashir Uddin and Ambassador Yao Wen visited the Premier Bank pavilion, where they were welcomed by Dr. Arifur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Premier Bank; Md Sazzad Hossain, Independent Director and Chairman of the Risk Management Committee; Mohammad Abu Jafar, Managing Director and CEO; Shahed Sekander, Managing Director of Premier Bank Securities Limited; Nasim Sekander, Additional Managing Director and Head of Gulshan Branch; Sayed Abul Hashem, Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer; and Amalendu Roy, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Banani Branch, along with other senior officers of the bank.

The exhibition highlighted the growing partnership under the Belt and Road Initiative and underscored the role of financial institutions like Premier Bank in supporting trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
